Grayson Perry.

Grayson was born 24 March 1960, he is an English artist mainly known for his ceramic vases, which I find to be quite interesting and expressional. His female alter-ego 'Claire' appears in a lot of his work. When Grayson was seven years old, his father left, which he described to be the largest impact on his life.  He had always taken an interest in drawing and building aeroplane sculptures, both had become themes in his work. He was affected by his stepfathers violence and would disappear either to his bedroom or to his stepfathers shed, where he would escape to a fantasy land sometimes involving a teddy bear he named 'Alan Measles', this teddy bear had become a 'father figure' to him.

At the age of 15 he moved in with his fathers family, at this time Grayson had unusual sexual desires and fantasy's, in which he became a cross dresser. Although when his stepmother told everyone about it he got kicked out and had to go live with his Stepfather again.

Following the encouragement of his art teacher, he decided to study art. He graduated in 1982.

I find Grayson's work to be quite interesting, and I also found his history to be interesting. His work looks unrealistic but unique, he uses bright colours and lots of objects which all stand out. I find his pottery to be interesting, his work seems to be very biographical.
